- Downloads Help
Mobile Devices - note: Quiet Earth downloads are zipped files. Most mobile/tablet devices do not allow zip files to be downloaded directly to them unless you have an App for that purpose (see below for Apps). If you don't have such an App you will need a desktop computer to download and extract the files. You can then sync your computer with your device to transfer them.
If you don't have access to a computer then Contact us and we will create another solution.
USING YOUR COMPUTER there are 2 steps to get your MP3 files (which are contained in a zip folder)
(After ordering, within 10 mins you will receive an email containing a link).
Step 1. Downloading the zip folder into your computer
Click on the link in your email and a browser will launch showing another link to your zip folder containing the name of the product you ordered.
Click on this link and your computer will begin to download the zip folder (in some computers a pop up will prompt you to save your file).
Step 2. Locating the zip folder and extracting (unzipping) your MP3 files
Once the download is complete locate your zip folder in your computer. Typcially it will be in your 'Downloads' folder and have the name of the product you ordered with a .zip extension
Click on the zip folder. In most cases simply clicking on the folder will begin to extract the MP3s you ordered and you should be able to see them in the folder. In some cases you may be prompted to select a destination folder for the files.
Note that the unzipping process may vary depending on your operating system and software you are using to handle Zip files.
For any of the Apple mobile devices (iPad, iPhone etc.) you may be able to download and save the audio in your device. However we recommend to firstly download the files with a PC or Mac, put them in iTunes and then sync the computer with your device. The files will then transfer over and be permanently saved. If you don't have access to a PC or Mac, please contact us and we will help you out.
Free Apps that can unzip and organise your files:
iTunes - iZip
Another good App (but not free) is Goodreader - you can download files with Goodreader, unzip them and play them
